Introduction: The Oakville region is known for producing some of Napa Valley’s most awarded Cabernet Sauvignon and is often considered the “heart and soul of Napa Valley,” where up-valley warmth is balanced by cooling influences from the southern appellations. Our 2023 Kukeri Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon is sourced from a small vineyard located on Money Road within the Oakville appellation. A touch of Malbec, Petit Verdot and Merlot balances the rich dark fruit character, adding vibrancy, lush mouthfeel, great acidity, and a long, lingering finish.

Winemaking: The grapes were handpicked in mid-November, then de-stemmed and crushed into small fermentation bins. A 3-day cold soak enhanced color stability and flavor extraction. Fermentation lasted 20 days, with punch-downs performed twice daily, followed by an additional 3 days of extended maceration to further develop color, structure, and phenolic complexity. The wine was gently pressed and aged on fine lees for 27 months in 100% French oak barrels, with 40% new oak, preserving its delicate aromatics while building depth, texture, and refinement.

Tasting Notes: Bold and powerful, the 2023 Kukeri Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon reveals layered aromas of cassis, dark cherry, and wild spice. The palate is rich and concentrated, unfolding with ripe wild berries, black plum, and savory herbs, seamlessly complemented by subtle notes of vanilla.  A velvety texture and finely integrated tannins are supported by bright acidity and balanced structure, leading to a long, elegant, and silky finish. This Cabernet Sauvignon pairs beautifully with grilled meats and richly flavored dishes.
