Introduction: The Oakville region is known for producing some of Napa Valley’s most awarded Cabernet Sauvignon and is often considered the “heart and soul of Napa Valley,” where up-valley warmth is balanced by cooling influences from the southern appellations. Our 2023 Kukeri Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon is sourced from a small vineyard located on Money Road within the Oakville appellation. A touch of Malbec, Petit Verdot and Merlot balances the rich dark fruit character, adding vibrancy, lush mouthfeel, great acidity, and a long, lingering finish.
Winemaking: The grapes were handpicked in mid-November, then de-stemmed and crushed into small fermentation bins. A 3-day cold soak enhanced color stability and flavor extraction. Fermentation lasted 20 days, with punch-downs performed twice daily, followed by an additional 3 days of extended maceration to further develop color, structure, and phenolic complexity. The wine was gently pressed and aged on fine lees for 27 months in 100% French oak barrels, with 40% new oak, preserving its delicate aromatics while building depth, texture, and refinement.
