Introduction: Yountville has one of in California’s coolest climates in Napa Valley, because of its southern location and exposure to cooling winds coming off the San Pablo Bay. Traveling north from Napa, Yountville is the 2nd valley floor sub-appellation that you will encounter.
The fruit for our 2019 Kukeri Yountville Cabernet Sauvignon is sourced from the organically farmed William’s vineyard located on Washington street of the town of Yountville. A touch of Petite Verdot, Malbec, and Merlot, balance the rich dark fruit of our 2019 Youtville Cabernet Sauvignon, adding a vibrancy to its lush mouthfeel and lingering dry finish and great acidity.
Winemaking: The grapes were handpicked at the end of October, de-stemmed and crush into small fermentation bins and allowed to cold soak for 4 days to help stabilize the color and enhance flavor. It was fermented for 15 days and punched down 3 times a day, with an additional 3 days extended maceration to increase extraction, producing Cabernet with concentrated tannins and complex, and ripe flavors, trademark of the Yountville appellation. The wine is then gently pressed and aged on fine lees for 26 months in 80/20 French and American barrels with 40% new French oak to preserve the delicate notes and mouthfeel.
Tasting Notes: Bold and very well balanced the 2019 Kukeri Yountville Cabernet Sauvignon, exhibiting aromas of dark fruit, plum, warm spices and cigar box. On the palate, the rich and concentrated flavors of ripe blackberry, sour cherries and fresh mountain herbs are in perfect harmony with the rich, velvety texture, with beautifully integrated tannins, Great acidity and structure combine with a lush suppleness, contributing to the elegant silky finish, which makes this Cabernet Sauvignon a perfect accompaniment to any grilled meat dishes.
